Esteemed for its role in “Trimix” plantings alongside similar varieties like Bissetii and Spectabilis, Yellow Groove showcases green culms highlighted by a distinct yellow sulcus (flat spot between nodes), adding visual interest to its appearance. It occasionally features smaller culms with a unique zigzag shape, further enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Thriving in USDA Zone 5 and hardy to -5°F, this bamboo reaches up to 30 feet in height and requires minimal sunlight (1 hour daily), making it a durable and attractive option for natural screening and garden enhancements.

At Almaville Bamboo Company, we pride ourselves on our meticulous approach to harvesting bamboo by hand-digging all our plants. Unlike our competitors, who often rely on mechanical equipment, our skilled gardeners use sharp shovels to carefully cut the rhizomes. This precision ensures that the tender buds beneath the surface are preserved, not harmed during extraction. This method is crucial as it maintains the integrity of the root ball, ensuring it remains as healthy as possible. A well-preserved root ball is vital for fostering robust growth and a high yield of baby bamboo shoots once replanted. Our commitment to hand-digging reflects our dedication to providing our customers with the highest quality bamboo plants that are primed for exceptional growth and longevity.

Payment Types Accepted – We accept cash, local check, credit card, or will set up an ACH billing. There is a 3% upcharge for credit card use.
Deposit Required for Large Orders Deposit – Custom dig, contract growing, and orders over 100 plants require a 1/3 nonrefundable deposit (applied to total order).
Taxes – As a certified Tennessee Nursery, we do not collect sales tax on our plants.

To give you an idea of what you can carry, we typically load 25 Adult Screening Plants in a long bed pickup truck or 20 in a 6-1/2′ bed. You can get 80-85 plants on a double axle 16 foot trailer.
You will need a tailgate or ramps or need to build some elevation on the back of your trailer.
If you don’t have a tarp, we can cover the plants for you- we have successfully had plants make it to Colorado, Maryland, Michigan and Florida covered with carpet backing or “Leno.”
If you expect your order to be greater than 20 plants, please call ahead so we can be sure of availability of your particular species. We prefer to stabilize the newly dug plants for 2 weeks.
